2020 Construction Projects Overview

Below is a list of current and upcoming construction planned in Willoughby. Projects and estimated start/end dates are subject to change. For specific questions, please contact our Service Department 440.953.4111.

Ward Creek Storm Sewer Project

This project calls for improvements along Ward Creek and is scheduled for late fall.

Storm Outfall Repair Project

This work will take place in various areas of the City this summer. Any residents affected by the project are notified by City Engineer prior to work beginning.

Completed Projects:

Erie Street Waterline Replacement

The Lake County Water Department will be replacing water main and hydrants on Erie Road from East Spaulding to Vine Street. Upon completion of the water line work the street will be repaved. Completed 6.2.20

364, E.365, and Harvard Road Storm Sewer Project

Includes hydrant relocation as well as storm sewer construction work. Completed 7.5.20

Erie Street Reconstruction

Reconstruction of Erie Street from the Norfolk and Southern rail crossing to the CSX rail crossing. This work will include storm sewer drainage work, paving replacement, new curbs, sidewalks and aprons. Completed 8.6.20

ADA Compliant Handicap Ramp Replacement Project

ADA compliant handicap ramps will be installed along Lake Shore Boulevard and State Route 84 as a requirement by the State of Ohio to coincide with the repaving of these two roadways. Completed August 2020

Lost Nation Road Rehabilitation

Concrete pavement repairs on Lost Nation Road and Willoughby Parkway to begin fall 2020. Completed September 2020

Postponed Projects:

Lakeshore Boulevard Resurfacing

The resurfacing of Lake Shore Blvd. from the Western Corporation Line to the Eastern Corporation Line will begin in early fall and be completed by the end of the construction season in November. UPDATE: Project rescheduled for spring 2021 by ODOT.
