Todd Field Improvements Project

The Todd Field Improvements Project is a multi-phase initiative to enhance Todd Field as a community gathering and recreational destination while improving public access, safety, accessibility and connectivity to the planned Chagrin River Trail. The project began with grant funding secured by the City of Willoughby to support the development of a new outdoor amphitheater and has since expanded to include broader improvements throughout the park.

Located along the Chagrin River, Todd Field will serve as an important access point to the Chagrin River Trail, connecting the park to Daniels Park and the broader trail system. Planned improvements include enhanced vehicular access and traffic flow, expanded and ADA-compliant parking, improved pedestrian connections, enhancements to the existing baseball fields and surrounding site infrastructure, and a modest outdoor amphitheater for concerts, community events, performances, and other programming. The improvements will preserve the natural character of the river corridor while improving the overall functionality and recreational opportunities at Todd Field.

The project will be completed in phases, with the timing and sequence of improvements dependent on available funding. The initial phase focuses on entrance improvements, a pedestrian connection to the Chagrin River Trail, and construction of the concrete stage pad and seating bowl for the new outdoor amphitheater.
