The duty of the Board of Zoning Appeals is to hear and decide appeal from any decision made by the Building and Zoning Inspector and to authorize variances from the Planning and Zoning Code. Procedures and board details may be found in Chapter 1105.04 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Willoughby.

All members are appointed by the Mayor with a concurrence of City Council. The Board of Zoning Appeals is composed of five members, none of whom shall hold any other public office or position in the City. The Board of Zoning Appeals meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the lower level of City Hall.
