Restoration and Reconnection Along Ohio’s Chagrin River
The East Branch of the Chagrin River joins its mainstem near Daniels Park, one of Willoughby’s most popular spots for fishing and outdoor recreation. In the summer of 2023, Daniels Park became the site of vision, collaboration, and commitment. The City of Willoughby, alongside Mayor Bob Fiala, partnered with regional and state agencies, a local watershed group, a private school, and a skilled ecological restoration team to bring a shared goal to life: restoring and reconnecting the river for the benefit of people and nature.
