March 2026

As we look forward to spring, I want to take a moment to recognize the work of our new Service Director, Dan Knecht, and his dedicated team. Our crew has worked tirelessly through one of the toughest winters in recent memory, keeping our streets safe, our facilities maintained, and our city running smoothly. Their hard work and commitment to our residents exemplify the strong sense of service that makes Willoughby such a special community.

On March 28th, we will host our annual Easter Egg Hunt at the South High School football field. The hunt starts promptly at noon. We’re also excited to once again offer our Adult Easter Egg Hunt on March 21st at 7 pm at Andrews Osborne Academy. This popular event has quickly become a favorite and is a great opportunity for adults to join in the fun.

This spring, we’re excited to take another step in strengthening our connection by launching a new resident text notification system. Residents will have the opportunity to sign up to receive important updates directly to their phones. This new tool will allow us to share timely information about city events, reminders, alerts, and other announcements in a convenient and accessible way. More details will be shared on our city Facebook page and website, two other platforms to stay in touch.

Not to rush time, but we have something special planned this summer as we celebrate America 250, the nationwide commemoration marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We are thrilled to announce that the Cleveland Pops Orchestra will join us for our July 4th celebration at Andrews Osborne Academy. Their special performance of favorite patriotic songs will lead directly into our annual fireworks display. With food trucks, games, and family-friendly activities, this promises to be a memorable and meaningful evening for the entire community.

And finally, we will be hosting our first State of the City event at the end of the month. This resident-focused presentation provides an opportunity to reflect on the past year, share our vision for the future, and celebrate the progress we are making together. This inaugural event will be held on Wednesday, March 25th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Historic Horse Barn located at Charlton Abbott on 37930 Euclid Avenue. Hope to see you there!
